I have been reconstructing the Yap family tree of Cebu City for some time now. A second generation Yap, Maria (c.1857-1947), married a Mariano Sandiego around 1880 (first child born 1881).

It was just months ago that I found, in Mariano Sandiego's burial record in Carcar, Cebu (1897), that his naturaleza was given as Obando, Bulacan, and his parents as Rafael Sandiego and Juana Abendaño, all of Obando. Could he be the same Rafael given as one of the children of Roman de San Diego and Placida de Roxas? The Sandiegos here used to write it San Diego but this evolved to just Sandiego.

This would be a breakthrough for the family. Many thanks.
